SongSpace presents The Early Mays with special guest Ol Whitetail
The Early Mays create Appalachian-inspired songs built on deep country sensibilities, masterful singing and a sweet old-time sound. They burst on to the folk scene in 2014 with a #2 debut on the National Folk-DJ Charts: an album where fiddle, banjo and guitar are the swirling backdrop to heart-melting vocal harmonies. Over the next three years, they took home the blue ribbon in the Neo-Traditional Competition at The Appalachian String Band Music Festival, appeared on NPRs Mountain Stage, and hit #1 on the National Folk DJ charts with their 2017 release, Chase the Sun.
They will be introducing songs from their upcoming EP, "Prettiest Blue"!
The Mays show will open with the music of special guest Ol Whitetail (https://www.olwhitetail.com/), who grew up in rural northern Appalachia and now lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She creates cinematic folk songs with hints of country blues and jazz. Her lyrics are inspired by philosophy, magic realism, activism, and nature.
