Eric Tran, piano
Eric Tran returns to Piedmont, CA to perform a solo piano recital at the Piedmont Center for the Arts. He has performed in Italy, Korea, Canada, China, and 20 states in the US, and was named a 2022 Gilmore Fellow. A graduate Stanford University, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Eric won the concerto prizes at all three institutions. He won awards at the Siena Music Festival, Wideman Piano Competition, and the MTNA-Stecher and Horowitz Two Piano Competition. Eric is a PHS grad ('09). This recital centers on the theme of joy. Eric will perform three transcriptions of Bach, including a special original transcription from one of the Bach Cello Suites, a raucous, virtuoso piece of Messiaen "The Spirit of Joy", and the entire Beethoven 6th Symphony "Pastoral" transcribed for solo piano by Franz Liszt.
A light reception will follow.
