Tell It & Speak It & Think It & Breathe It: Short Plays Inspired by Great Lyrics - RHINOFEST 2014
Including short plays inspired by the lyrics of The Mekons, Neko Case, Blur, The Chords, Neil Young, and Arcade Fire, Tell It & Speak It & Think It & Breathe It creeps into the mind like old flat-top, grooving up slowly. Six Chicago-based playwrights join forces with up-and-coming directors to explore what landscapes emerge when words explode out of their familiar contexts. The result sounds like a carnival, and the microphone smells like a beerTell It sends audiences into peaceful neighborhoods, the rubble a bomb leaves behind, the shore of an unfamiliar sea, and a good old-fashioned Chicago dive bar.
