The Springbank Voyage
An evening of music and tales of seafaring from the last great days of sail - aboard 'Springbank', a Clydebuilt contemporary of 'Glenlee'.
Join Shetland musician Barry Nisbet - a Tall Ship captain himself - and his crew for his latest project, taking you along on a voyage of danger, beauty, heartache and hope.
Featuring dialect and Scottish voices, folk music and original songs, and the tale of a 1908 ocean sailing passage aboard the four-masted barque 'Springbank'.
Playing folk that is firmly placed in the modern world, Barrys roots are traditional, with a fiddle-playing and song writing background.
As one of the Cullivoe Fiddlers, Barry plays a regional style of Shetland music; a Captain of tall ships, he has sailed the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
RnR Magazine described Barry's 2018 album 'A Bright Ray of Sunshine' as 'Magnificent' in a 5-star review.
This is a licensed event and a pay bar will be provided.
