Battersea Choral Society - Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem
Battersea Choral Societys Concert during Lent
We are delighted to invite you to our Easter Concert at Holy Trinity Sloane Square. Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem - to sing this masterpiece the day before Palm Sunday signifies the meaning of the words of the Holy Scriptures. A German Requiem is sacred but non-liturgical and sung in the German language. Brahms wrote this Requiem after the death of his beloved mother and a few years after the death of his friend, Robert Schumann. It is believed Brahms was inspired and motivated to write this Requiem after these life-changing events.
