Lets Fall In Love!
Lets Fall In Love!
Vocalist Eve Marie Shahoian
February, 11th @ 8PM
With Guitarist Mike Williams and Bassist Aaron Germain
Come Valentine with us for the evening while enjoying the acoustic stylings of jazz, standards and original music written and performed by Eve Marie.
Eve Marie has something to say, and she says it with style, passion and a great deal of flair. Her technique is stellar. She sang jazz and pop and standard show tunes and even a little rock and found the heart of each of those styles perfectly.

Bay Area Native Vocalist Eve Marie Shahoian recently returned from NYC after headlining at Birdland and debuting her show Take Me To The World at Dont Tell Mama. Bay Area appearances have included Feinstein's at The Nikko, The Rrazz Room, SF Press Club, French Club, Bimbo's 365 Club, Concert Series, Lucca, Italy, and Whitehall Palace in London to name a few. She has been a featured singer on Delta Airlines, and a Billboard recipient for the "Outstanding Original Song" achievement for her first Album "Waiting For You. In 2017, original music from her EP Believe was up for consideration for the Grammy Award in the Best New Artist and Pop.
She gave us a breathless and beautiful scene with Sondheim's " I Remember "
Ms. Shahoian is not only a wonderful singer, but she is also a very gifted songwriter. The highlight of the evening for me were two of her own songs, "Waiting For You" and "If You Were a Melody," a tender love song she dedicated to her children.
She has something to say, and she says it with style and passion and a great deal of flair. Her technique was stellar. She sang jazz and pop and standard show tunes and even a little rock and found the heart of each of those styles perfectly.

Spending 20+ years as a busy hired gun bass player, Aaron has been through all sorts of adventures; traveling the world and learning from the masters.
Growing up in Massachusetts, he cut his teeth playing upright and electric bass in bands ranging from jazz, blues, funk, reggae, Senegalese mbalax; all while driving to New York and Boston, and all over New England. From the beginning he learned to be picky about quality, but not genre.
Moving to the San Francisco bay area in 2000, his adventures continued, and he quickly found himself working over time, sometimes playing two or three gigs a day. He entered the world of salsa and Afro-Cuban music, Brazilian forro music, Caribbean steel pan music; he found himself accompanying Indian kathak dancers, veteran calypso singers from Trinidad, or navigating through dense, odd-meter jazz compositions.
Mike Williams earned his Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts from Cal State University Hayward. Along with his teaching, he continues to perform professionally, both in the United States and internationally, at Jazz Festivals, concerts, clubs, and private events.
Mike began teaching private lessons in 1971. Under his instruction, students have won numerous prestigious music scholarships including the University of California Los Angeles, the New England Conservatory of Music and the University of Southern California
Several students are enjoying careers as prominent touring and recording artists including members of Counting Crows and Michael Bubles band.
Mike taught Music Theory, Music Literature, Popular Musics in American Culture and Guitar at Los Medanos College and is adjunct faculty at St Marys College in Moraga. In addition to his duties as an instructor, Mike served as an adjudicator and clinician at various Bay Area high school and college Jazz Festivals.
For 20 years Mike served as Director for the Soundwall Music Camps (www.rockcamp.org <http://www.rockcamp.org/>) held on the UCSC campus.
In 1995 Mike wrote an advanced instructional book for Warner Brothers publications titled Lessons with the Greats. This text contains in-depth style analysis of and interviews with noted guitarists John Abercrombie, Mike Stern, Frank Gambale, Kevin Eubanks, Scott Henderson and Steve Lukather
