Battle of Zigs 8
Battle of Zigs is an outdoor lasertag picnic party celebrating my 41st birthday. Anyone is welcome to register but space will be very limited. This will be run similar to previous SFLasertag events, with the exception that we'll be trying several experimental game formats. We'll form 3-4 teams of up to 8 players each, playing 12 minute outdoor lasertag games of outdoor lasertag. Games take place in gorgeous 6 acre wooded hilltop park overlooking SFO in San Bruno. Lasertag is a team sport that is easy to learn and loads of fun to play. No experience is necessary. You can register alone or with your group.
When: Sunday Dec 22, 2013 1:00pm-4:30pm
The Equipment:
Lasertag: We''ll be playing on some of the best performing outdoor lasertag equipment in the world provided by www.specopsliveplay.com . These Battlefieldsports lasertag guns have targeting scopes and can register hits over 1000' away with a radio based hit-confirmation. We'll have a variety of pistols, carbines, and rifles to choose from.
Radio Headsets: Each player will be issued a two-way radio headset to talk to your teammates. I'll be bringing a radio repeater system that allows players to hear game sound FX mixed in with player and ref com.
The Experience: Everyone will experience a 10 minute training course, followed by at least three 12 minute games throughout the afternoon. Because it's my birthday, I want to try some new game formats that should be pretty awesome. We'll be playing Domination with multiple resapwn points, Capture the Flag, and a new game called Patent Wars.
The terrain we're playing on is very large- over 6 acres of a wooded hilltop. You're going to hear your teammates scream for help over your radio headset. By the end of this party you'll be exhausted and exhilarated. It will be the most fun you've had in a long time! No lasertag experience necessary.
The Battle of Zigs8 is a party for anyone who wants to experience lasertag at its finest!
Where: BattleofZigs8 takes place in a beautiful and huge eucalyptus hill top in Junipero Serra park overlooking SFO. It's about 25 minutes from downtown San Francisco, about 40 minutes from Palo Alto, and about a 10 minute ride from SFO. You can bicycle into the park if you'd like.
Cost: $30 per person includes all lasertag equipment, two-way radios, permits. This is a fraction of the price of normal SFLasertag events, because much of the equipment is being borrowed for my birthday. Each team will play at least 3 games. $6 per vehicle entering the park
Food: Food is not included, except for a birthday cake. This is a potluck picnic. Because I'm vegan and it's my birthday, I ask that you keep whatever you're brining to be vegan as well. We'll use the Facebook group to coordinate potluck food.
Restrictions: Dogs are not allowed in the park Smoking is not allowed in the park Hard liquor is not allowed, beer and wine are ok with a designated driver No camouflage, for fairness and for the courtesy of other park guests, All players will need to sign a liability waiver and photo / video release form
