SHAM 69

In 2006 the band decided enough was enough and sacked Jimmy Pursey, though a momentous deed by any band having discovered that it had thus far been used as a front for ripping people off and no shows, they decided to try to put things right.

With new Singer Tim V(2006) along with Dave Parsons(late 1977) and Ian Whitewood(1986) the band had to pick the worst of the cons and play benefit shows for free to try to make amends, this proved impossible as the debts rose.

Touring the UK felt like they had just started it wasn't long before many had their faith restored. With offers from UK venues rolling in it wasn't long before Europe and then the US came. So from 2008, the band were back on the road and it wasn't long before they managed to do more shows and more territories then in the band's entire history.

By 2009 the band had already released 2 new original albums and to date have released 8 with a movie of their tour of China. The band, of course, have had the snipes from the belated reunion punk scene but with anything, ignorance comes from a lack of knowledge, and though fans will have their say only the true fans know the truth.

This hardworking band have always stood firm even when Dave Parsons went back on everything he said to chase the pounds with Pursey on the reunion trail...needless to say not to the benefit of those who were left in debt.

So the music stands the test of time and as they say if the Punk scene is true to its word and it is a family then trust and faith is paramount and these guys deserve that respect.

The band announced in Oct 2021 the accumulated funds raised for the NSPCC Child Abuse hotline as £41,721.45...a sum they have raised through % donations from every gig they have done since 2011. The band will carry on and fight the good fight but don't call them fake when history and fact say otherwise.

UNDER THE COSH

Hailing from Grantham, Lincolnshire, Under The Cosh are a band that came together in 2019 through their love of Oi! Street Punk, Punk, or whatever you want to call it. A previous short-lived incarnation of the band was together briefly in 2011 but this version soon fell apart.

This short period of the bands history is not without merit though as it did include gigs alongside distinguished punk bands such as English Dogs amongst others.

Fast forward to July 2019 and the new version of Under The Cosh came into being. Original members Bon and Dodster returned putting together a new line up recruiting Dik on bass and a guy called Parkie who was briefly the drummer.

The band offer an energetic brand of Punk Rock/Oi with flowing guitar riffs and killer chorus lines to boot which are guaranteed to get the crowd chanting along. Bon is the chief lyric writer, and he mainly structures his songs around streetwise characters from the wrong side of town. This conjures up the spirit of football terraces, pubs, clubs, dodgy dealers, loveable rogues, with a nod to the great subcultures of days gone by.

In 2020 the band expanded to a 5 piece with Nick replacing Parkie on drums and Dean coming in to take over lead guitar duties.

Release wise there have been 2 digital singles to date This Is Our England (Dec 2020) and Rock
City Girl (Jul 2021) both of which have attracted interest. The debut album is almost complete and should be available by the end of the year or very early 2022.

With a set of original stompers under their belts Under The Cosh will be coming to a town near you soon. Oi! Oi!

AFK

James Wolfe - Guitar, Vocals
Danny Smart - Bass, Vocals
Zero - Drums

With influences from NOFX and Offspring to Nirvana, Foo Fighters and Deftones, Nottingham band, AFK, blend a melange of genres into a frantic, high energy tempest of Punk.

Powered by blasting, breakneck beats, catchy, melodic, hard-hitting riffs and heavily grunge-inspired solos, AFK hark back to a time when the Punk was raw, the Metal was hard and the Grunge was ... well ... grungy

Established in 2014 after the dissolution of a their previous metal band, James and Danny recruited Zero to join them on a project to resurrect the sounds that first inspired them to play.

Drawing on a wealth of inspiration and a desire to go back to their roots, the band formulated a distinct style of catchy, high-intensity riffs and intricate, bass heavy grooves, switching between melodic harmonies and angst-filled screams seemingly at will "Some of these songs were written long ago, back before I even knew James or Zero" says Danny.

"We each took them and put our own unique spin on them, sometimes going in the complete opposite direction to the original idea. Each time, we ended up with something that represents us as a band; something uniquely AFK"

Whether you're a dedicated metal-head, a don't-give-a-fuck punk rocker or just a dirty, greasy greb (and we should know), AFK have something that will kick your ass in ways you never thought possible.

CRYOGENICS

Me (Sid) my son Colin on drums and a mate Chris on guitar started to mess about at ours in Colins bedroom set Cols drums up and Chris brought his guitar and amo used a karaoke machine for vocals wrote a few songs and did our first gig in Sudbury in 2006 with the fanny pads we gigged for a couple of years until Chris left to join another band.

Ruby then joined as guitarist in about 2009 met her at an English dog's gig and soon after we were doing some awesome gigs with the likes of GBH, English Dog's, Discharge, Varukas, Buzzcocks King Kurt, 999, Subhumans to name a few.

We were doing two to three gigs a month around the country after a couple of years Ernie then joined us on bass and we recorded our first Cd 6 trax called punk fucking rock we carried on playing gigs including with Sham 69 and Exploited which was awesome.

After a few more years Ruby left to join the Vile and Pete became our new guitarist, again we carried on gigging and recorded a new CD our first album No Escape couple more years on and Colin had to leave do to family commitments so Pete and Ernie both left to go into other established bands.

That left just me sol carried on going to gigs in the hope of meeting new band members for a year and met Rob our bassist we then spent 6 months looking for a guitarist and drummer until we met Zee at magnet studio in Notts and then finally Tom to drum.

We've now been gigging for a full year with new material and revamped old sings as well and also recorded a new album Senseless Violence with hopefully will be released this year tom left after a year and Martin became our new permanent drummer and again we have
continued to gig and write new songs and so Cryogenic carries on to yet another level and hopefully to a lot more better things to come.

AUTHORITY CRACKS

The Midlands melds with the Mancs, in this Middle-Raged mash up of solid Brummie punk and South Manchester political punch.

Authority Cracks may be a new project, but the members are certainly not wet behind the ears. The line up comprises ex members of bands, including Contempt, Drongos for Europe and Rubella Ballet. The Lyrics deliver a powerful message of equality and respect for all, underpinned by crunchy guitar, thumping bass and energetic drums.
