Heart Medicine For The Holidays
The winter holiday season can be a beautiful time of rest, reflection and connectedness. However many of us experience feelings of grief, isolation and overwhelm as we navigate our own personal stressors and triggers during the season. In this online class, well explore different herbal allies that can support us to lovingly tend to our hearts and tune in to the winter season in a supportive way. The plant world can provide us with profound healing, whether we lovingly garden, hold the plants to our heart, make a tea, take a bath, tell plant stories, or take a tincture. This online class will include lecture, sharing, plant meditation, and modeling of several ways of working with plants in a respectful, reciprocal manner to support our deep healing.

This is an online class. A recording will be shared with class participants.

About the facilitator: Rebekah Sze-Tung Olstad (she/her) is a community and clinical herbalist based in Huichuin Ohlone Territory, Oakland CA. She has a private practice where she supports people one-on-one, teaches workshops, and makes herbal remedies. She is grateful to the plants for the healing they can bring to our communities. Testimonials from former students:

This class has been incredible! I am so grateful for Bekah's knowledge and wisdom, and the way she shares it all in such an engaging, gentle, thoughtful and inspiring way. Her loving nature radiates through the work she does and the way she holds space, even online. She makes herbalism feel very accessible. I've learned so much, and it's really helped give me confidence in herbal medicine making. - Roan

Bekah is an absolutely incredible teacher. I am so grateful for this course's decolonial approach. I especially appreciated the emphasis on relationships with plants and being in relationship with ancestral plants specifically. - Taylor
