STN Thankful Yogis
Please join us for a 3-week therapeutic yoga series led by Jazmin Rambeau, SLP!
Seattle Therapy Network would like to offer this opportunity to supplement your childs traditional speech therapy and/or occupational therapy. This program aims to support development, enrich communication, and cultivate gratitude for children ages 5 -9. The event will be limited to 4 in person attendees, with an option to join via Zoom.

Each class will be centered around the theme of thankfulness for family, friends, animals, and ourselves, in addition to where we live and the food we eat. We also feel it is important to acknowledge the Duwamish land we live on here in Seattle. This 3-week series will include the following weekly themes:

Saturday's 10:00 am - 11:00 am
November 6th: Thankful for My Body
November 13th: Thankful for People and Places
November 20th: Thankful for Food and Home

Communication is a multi-faceted process that includes a vast set of skills, including receptive language, expressive language, articulation, and social communication. Yoga can help support these skills as it engages the body, mind, and respiratory system. It also offers a compassionate framework that improves self-awareness, growth mindset, and resilience. By using an integrative approach such as yoga, we can establish, boost, and enrich all communication skills while providing tools for mindfulness and holistic well-being.

Skills supported during each class:
-Receptive Language: understanding vocabulary and following directions
-Expressive Language: saying grammatical sentences to comment and answer questions
-Articulation: clarity in producing both basic and more advanced speech sounds
-Social Communication: participation in a group setting and conversation with peers
-Mindfulness: practices to support interoceptive awareness and executive functioning
-Resilience: focus on gratitude and compassion for self and others
