Christopher Martin In Concert on the Rodgers 788 2-manual Trillium Masterpiece Organ
Christopher Martin is a talented pianist/organist educated at USC Thornton School of Music under the tutelage of renowned artist and teacher Antoinette Perry. Mr. Martin has also studied and done performance coursework with Dr. Steward Gordon, Bernadene Blaha, Lucinda Carver,and Dr. Beverly Howard. Mr. Martin has served on the faculties of the European School of Music and Art in LA, The Mosaic Music School in Yorba Linda, and the Shelby and Ferne Collinsworth School of Music at California Baptist University. Mr. Martin has taught students ranging in age from three years old to more than seventy-five and in experience from beginners to seasoned professionals. His students include internationally recongized stride piano master Adam Yarian, LA jazz pianists Ross Garron and Jeffrey Goodkind, and Culver City based film composers David and Benjamin Stanton of Stanton Studios, Inc.
As a performer, Mr. Martin has received accolades at numerous piano competitions. Though Mr. Martin has played services for many years on the organ, this peformance marks his debut in concert with the instrument, a Rodgers 788 2-manual Trillium Masterpiece Organ.The program will be a repertoire spanning the centuries and showing the full range of the organ's capabilities. Mr Martin's showmanship is outstanding and draws the audience in as he clearly demonstrates his love of the instrument. His improv session with the audience is extraordinary and a real crowd pleaser.
