Yoshiko Chuma's After Maracaibo in Venezuela - 4 solos is the latest iteration in the π=3.14 series. The work is also being prepared for the Festival Internacional de Danza de Maracaibo, Venezuela. The work looks at Ms Chuma's experiences in strife torn regions to reveal a human reality through juxtaposing personalized elements.
Rachel Bernsen's After The Meadow, Before The Forest and the duo Thickets, delves into the metaphorical resonances of returning to a more natural state and many stages of change along that path. It engages the generative tensions between unison and counterpoint, structure and improvisation, and interdependence and independence as they relate to sound and movement.
Nicholson & Parker's Vision In Handcuffs utilizes words, (spoken or sung), movement and tonal structure, video and installations to paint pictures that are dreamlike and sometimes narrative about Vision as a Character. Transformation in real-time and dream-time becomes a possibility through the magic of art as Present.
