'First Thursdays' at The Independent - Dec 5 "Holiday Feastival!"
The Indy is alive & 'First Thursdays' continue Dec 5 at The Independent with a 5-6pm Happy Hour followed by our extravagant 'Holiday Feastival' Dinner seating at 6pm.  Highlights this month include a mini Holiday Bazaar, free photo booth with Santa Claus, 7 piece Jazz Band, Ugliest Holiday Sweater Contest, movie 'How the Grinch Stole Xmas' and lavish desserts!

FOOD: All courses will be served 'family style' on platters to be shared + devoured by friends new and old, so bring a social spirit! Look forward to meeting + eating next to contributing food artisans like The Wild Plum Cafe, Companion Bakeshop, Local Catch Monterey Bay, Happy Girl Kitchen, Ashby confections, Kai Lee Creamery
& Pop Culture!

MINI HOLIDAY BAZAAR:  come at 5PM to enjoy shopping a handful of local artisans at our mini Holiday Bazaar!  Get your mistletoe, chocolate, glass ornaments, holiday kitch decor, stollen bread and stocking stuffers! Vendors include Ashby Confections, Lilify & Bright Cofee, OLIO Vintage Fun, happy girl kitchen and Moore Conceptual Glass Design.

SANTA CLAUS PHOTO BOOTH: Join Santa Claus in the photo booth for an unforgettable moment-  later you can retrieve your photo off the Indy FaceBook page.  OLIO VINTAGE FUN will be decorating the booth with holiday cheer!

MOVIE- 'How The Grinch Stole Xmas' will be projected during dessert for those that wanna stay for the after party!

UGLY SWEATER CONTEST!- break out your gaudiest, most nauseating holiday regalia & win an Indy Box full of food ($25 value) along with a stocking stuffed with goodies from our Mini Holiday Bazaar vendors . . . Judges Maddox Haberdasher & Michele Magdalena will preside.

TICKETS: Only 125 Adult Dinner Tickets are available for $35.  Kids tickets are $15.
Military/Students/Sand City Residents $30 Discount tickets with I.D.

MUSIC:  Need another reason to attend Thursday's "Holiday Feastival" at The Indy for $35?  How about listening to the jazzy big band tunes of  The "Thom Cuneo's Jazz Band", formed in 2004 from a solid group of local professional Jazz enthusiasts!  This 7 piece band includes a lively brass section!

"We are an exciting high-energy band specializing in the traditional styles of Glen Miller, Miles Davis, Peggy Lee, Sophia Tucker, Vera Lynn and Barbara Streisand. We have an extensive repertory of Ragtime, Swing, Blues, Ballads, Jazz Standards, Latin, Dixie  and Novelty songs. However, for the Holiday Season, we also have a Special library of Christmas Carols.

THE INDY BOX:  Buy a take home 'Taste of The Indy Box' containing a curated selection from the evenings featured artisans for just $25;  mixed local organic vegetables, a fresh loaf of bread from Companion Bakeshop (Santa Cruz), local cheese from Schoch Family Farmstead (Hollister), smoked salmon collar from Local Catch Mont Bay (Monterey), and a sweet from Ashby Confections (Scotts Valley)!  Buy online to reserve for pick up that evening on your way out, all for $25 to support our collaborating vendors!

PLACE:  The Indy Building 600 Ortiz Ave Sand City. Imagine the expansive white interior of the Independent Art Gallery alive with a social seating of folks all enjoying a sequence of appetizers, main dish & desserts provided by the most progressive food artisans from Monterey to Santa Cruz.  Hung on the walls a series of posters illustrates the future of The Independent Marketplace-  come see the plans for this emerging food hub!

15 BEERS on tap and HUNDREDS of bottles from 'Post No Bills' ample selection is available for purchase. Come experience for yourself why Monterey Weekly voted Post No Bills 'Best Selection of Beers' in the county!

WINES will be poured by the glass by The Big Sur Food + Wine Festival folks!  
Visit the wine bar upon arrival to grab a glass and hear about their annual festival which happened in November.

SODA: Pop Culture will be sampling + selling their carefully sweetened organic artisan SODA (non alcoholic).
