Baroque to Brazil
This program will cover several styles and periods of music, with emphasis on the traditional Choro style of Brazilian music, and its historical roots and baroque and classical styles of music.
Performers:
Jane Lenoir, baroque and modern flutes, Almir Cortes, mandolin and guitar, Jesse Appleman, mandolin, Ricardo Peixoto, 7-string Brazilian guitar, Brian Rice, percussion. On the baroque selections, Adam Cockerham will be playing the theorbo.
The program will include works of Bach, Telemann, Villa Lobos, Jacob do Bandolim, originals by our performers, and much more!
