Literacy Works Presents an Evening of Irish Song and Story, Featuring Kevin O'Donnell
Kick off the holidays by joining Irish American songwriter and author Kevin O'Donnell as he performs songs from his new CD, Deep is the Well, and read passages from his book, Fadó: A Memoir of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

All proceeds from this event will benefit Literacy Works. Our vision is that one day, all people will be able to realize their full potential through the ability to read, write, and interpret the world.

Reviews for Deep is the Well and Fado:

"O'Donnell is a bard in every sense of the word, the news, and the history. He recounts all original songs of a journey of centuries past, daily battles lost but an immigrant's war for survival, won, despite it all. It is quintessential Irish married to quintessential Americana, just like you and me.

Deep is the Well is a Top Shelf Selection, one of the best albums I have had the pleasure of hearing this year. I will wear grooves in this one."

- John O'Brien, Jr.
Irish American News Ohio, May 2013

"Fado is a vast, sprawling book of Irish history, about Arranmore Island in particular, and the author's personal remembrances of growing up in a distant Chicago suburb. It contains many golden nuggets of Irish history and of the Irish-American experience."

- Frank West, Irish American News
