Meeting the Extreme Heat Challenge
For Sam Hughes residents: Enjoy a 2-hr interactive workshop on neighborhood resilience presented by the Arizona chapter of the Physicians for Social Responsibility.
Topics include: Weather changes in the desert Southwest Risks to our power grid posed by global warming How to recognize and treat signs of heat illness What YOU can do to prepare your household and help your neighbors as well
The program includes visualization, slides, personal reflection, conversation, assessment of your current state of readiness, and practical steps we each can take to meet the challenge of extreme heat.
Presenter: Jackie Day is a life-time community servant. Beginning with a 2-yr stint in the Peace Corps, Jackie has served on non-profit boards, raised five children adopted in infancy, and co-founded the Milagro co-housing project in Tucson.
