Share this event:

On Sunday, January 26, 2013, the Stokes County Arts Council will host a concert by the John Cowan Band at South Stokes Auditorium. Show starts at 3:30pm with special guests The Good Fellers followed by The Holly Creek Girls. South Stokes High School is located at 1100 South Stokes High Drive, Walnut Cove, NC.

John Cowan, also known as the Voice of Newgrass, has been singing his heart out for thirty-five years now, and his soaring vocals have only improved with time. From Newgrass Revival, to the John Cowan Band, to the legendary Doobie Brothers, Cowan has set himself apart as one of the most loved and admired vocal artists of his generation, not just by fans and critics, but among fellow musicians as well. A true innovator, John applies his powerful pipes to genres from country, bluegrass, and gospel to soul, jazz, and rock-and-roll  often within the space of a single concert. His ability to move fluidly through multiple styles, and carry mesmerized audiences on the journey with him have created a dedicated following and a live performance that shouldn't be missed.

Tickets for the January 26 performance are now on sale online at www.johncowan.brownpapertickets.com and at the Stokes County Arts Council located at 500 N. Main Street, Danbury and King Music Center located in downtown King. $20 advance ticket, $25 day of the show, and $18 for Stokes Arts members and children 12 and under.  Only 225 tickets will be sold for this performance.
