Barak Hill's Sketches Scraps and Lines: Brandon Moore and Sky Smeed
Sketches, Scraps, and Lines is a monthly songwriter showcase hosted by Barak Hill. Each show features a brief interview and a set of original songs from two of Barak's favorite songwriters.
Barak's guests for July are Brandon Moore and Sky Smeed.
Brandon Moore is singer/songwriter who performs high-spirited, barefoot-in-the-grass-under-funky-stars, feel-good songs with danceable grooves. He's talented multi-instrumentalist and a fixture on the local music scene, lending his skill and enthusiasm to countless bands and projects including Jalopy, The Hurricanes, The Shotgun Brothers, Barefoot Revolution, and many more.
Sky Smeed is a singer/songwriter from Lawrence, Kansas. Listeners often compare Sky's music to Gram Parsons, Neil Young, and John Prine, though his easy-going, off-the-cuff banter and transparency link him to contemporaries like Todd Snider and Paul Thorn. With songs that range from heartbreaking to hilarious, Sky is a master of using music to connect with an audience emotionally.
You're welcome to bring your own drinks, alcoholic or otherwise. However, this is a quiet, listening room show, as well as a live podcast taping. Talking or being in anyway disruptive during the show will not be tolerated.
