| | EventA Magnificat Finale - Bach Roots FestivalOnline Ticket sales have ended for this event, but tickets remain and will be sold at the door starting at 7:30pm tonight prior to the 8:00pm concert at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in St. Paul.
The 2021 Bach Roots Festival concludes with J.S. Bach's exuberant and virtuosic Magnificat set for chamber orchestra, choir, and vocal soloists. A rarely performed Magnificat setting by Johann Kuhnau, Bach's predecessor in Leipzig, opens the concert revealing fascinating similarities between the music of two 18th Century Leipzig composers. Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 "Overture" opens this celebratory night.
