Solo Concert with Yungchen Lhamo - Discovering Your Inner Health, Healing and Strength
Deep Listening Institute and the City of Kingston present a solo concert "Discovering Your Inner Health, Healing and Strength" with Yungchen Lhamo, world renowned international artist in the beautiful acoustic environment of the Council Chambers on the second floor of Kingston's City Hall and the first concert of its kind to take place there.
Kingston mayor Shayne Gallo says, "Yungchen Lhamo is our universal mandala and mantra! Kingston and the USA, are blessed by her spirit, kindness, presence and being for all life! Her message of love, peace and forgiveness come from a place that is not from our world. When we listen to her voice we are always reminded of the oneness connecting all life throughout the universe. Thank you Yungchen for your healing mantra like voice!"
Concert admission is a suggested donation of $15 for adults and $10 for student and seniors. The concert will also be streaming world-wide as a world blessing on Deep Listening Institute's internet broadcast at www.ustream.tv/channel/deep-listening-institute-presents.
Since her 1989 pilgrimage on foot from her beloved homeland of Tibet, Yungchen Lhamo has emerged as the world's leading Tibetan vocalist. From the quays of Sydney, Australia to the spotlight of New York's Carnegie Hall, her haunting a cappella performances have enchanted audiences in more than 70 countries and garnered critical praise worldwide.
Yungchen has collaborated with luminaries such as Natalie Merchant, on her platinum-selling Ophelia, as well as with Philip Glass, Annie Lennox, Michael Stipe, Billy Corgan, and Sheryl Crow. Her songs have been featured on compilation albums including Prayer Cycle and Lilith Fair Live, on the soundtrack to the Hollywood film Seven Years in Tibet, and in a handful of documentaries.
This event is part of Ione's 18th Annual Dream Festival and will be held at Kingston City Hall at 420 Broadway in Kingston. Admission is a suggested donation of $15 Adults/$10 Students & Seniors.
