Kantorei Christmas: Meditations and Carols
Join Kantorei of Kansas City, fresh off our first recording for Resonus Classics, in our most eclectic Christmas offering to date. Meditations and Carols will feature a selection of pieces from the Renaissance period to today that discuss the key points of the Christmas Story. The transfiguration of Light into the world in the form of a child is portrayed through ancient and modern settings of O Nata Lux. The purity of and chastity of that light's vessel, Mary, will be explored in Marian settings by William Byrd, Anton Bruckner, Paul Mealor and William Hawley. Unfamiliar treatments of familiar carol texts will highlight the second half of the concert including Paul Mealor's "A Spotless Rose."
December 21st at 7pm at the stunning Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Tickets will go on sale on November 8th.
December 22nd at 3pm will be held at Visitation Catholic Church.
