Jake's Leg
Every once and a while we find it fun to throw our audience a curve ball. You know, mix up the status quo a bit. As you know we not only specialize in the presentation of folk musics of the nation & world but, also do our best to support St.Louis' own local heroes and Jakes Leg is no exception. We'd be hard pressed to find a single StL. native who has never at least heard of this band. Spanning the generations, Jakes Leg has been preforming the music of The Grateful Dead for 38 years (thats only 9ish years less than the Dead played dead ;)!!!! Much of the Grateful Dead's material was derived from traditional music and in some cases, was simply a rocked up version a true traditional tune. In fact, many of the folkies we know today originally discovered traditional folk by listening to bands like the Dead. Please note ;This will be an acoustic performance and seating will be limited as some of our seats will be removed for dance space. Also, the show will likely not be the perfectly silent listening experience we are known for . However, We promise that it will sound great!! This show will make a perfect excuse to get out of the house between the holidays. It's gonna be a hoot!
