ONLINE: Click Your Heels Presents: High Heels 101
Note: This will be a live, online class offered through Zoom. To participate, you will need to download the free, basic version of the Zoom app before the class! Zoom info will be sent to registered attendees one hour before the event begins.
Learn how to choose, stand, walk, and groove in HIGH HEELS with more confidence. Learn about different types of high heels and their pros and cons. Learn tips for buying the right ones for you, how to take good care of your high heels, and which ones are best for which circumstances.
You must have your own heels to wear at home. If you have multiple pairs feel free to bring multiple pairs to class, such as lower heels vs higher, platforms vs no platform, etc.
This is NOT a dance class. No actual dance moves will be taught, and you do not need to be a dancer to take this class.
Everyone is welcome, from raw beginners to more experienced folks looking to level up.
All Bodies, All Ages over 18, All Genders!
This class will be held in the meeting format. Audio and video use is not required but is highly encouraged.
Alexandria is a body-positive, queer, leather, poly, flirt femme-nomenon. Before March 2020, you could find her kicking dust off hearts on both sides of the bay as Peppermint Furiosa: the Queen of Improv. She was co-producer of Drrrty Queer in San Francisco, and taught weekly at studios and gyms around the Bay Area. She began teaching dance in 1998, and was proud to be the in-house dance teacher at the illustrious Center For Sex and Culture from 2012-2019. Her repertoire includes east coast swing, salsa, belly dance, flexibility, pole dancing, floor work, go-go dancing, how to dance in high heels, non-verbal communication and body language, club dancing, specialty work with so-called no-rhythm/two-left-feet types, and more. Whether teaching couples at home in California or hundreds in a nightclub in Japan, her life's purpose is to help everyone come home to their body. Find her on Facebook/Instagram as Click Your Heels Movement. Some of her favorite things include polka-dots, the Pacific Ocean, and Sade.
$15 - $35 in advance through Brown Paper Tickets until one hour prior to the event.
We offer a sliding scale, so that cost is not a barrier to attendance.
The regular ticket is $25. This is what most people should pay.
The $15 ticket is offered for those for whom the $25 ticket would be a barrier to participation. If $25 is too much, we take your word for it! Just pay $15.
Have a great salary? Feeling generous? Paying at the $35 level allows us to make the discounted ticketing available to others who need it. :)
So - that's it! Choose the level you can comfortably afford.
Zoom now provides closed captioning. We also recommend the Live Transcribe App. It is free, easy to use, and works well with virtual events.
