nos(otrxs) ¡somxs! presents Eleonor Maciel
nos(otrxs) ¡somxs! or nx/sx is a full-length multilingual multi-disciplinary performance that features (im)migrant storytelling, drag king lip synching, live music and song, experimental performance, and dance. The title is inspired by the writings of Gloria Evangelina Anzaldúa and references Indigenous concept, los otros somos yo, which roughly translates to the others are I and we. This project is guided by Black and Latinx feminist thought which upholds lived experience as a form of knowledge and speaking or testimonial as theorizing.

nx/sx centers the embodied conocimiento or knowings of migrant liminal bodies through the work of queer, questioning, gender fluid, and non-conforming artists, Ceiba ili, El Panadero, Eleonor Maciel, and Fabiola Ochoa Torralba who reside in Yanaguana, San Quilmas, San Anto, San Antonio, Texas. The general public is invited to view the artists works in progress to provide support and critical feedback for this production which explores the interrelations between gender, land, and labor on the body. These will take place on March 13 & 27 and April 10 & 24 and will culminate in a full-length production that will premier in early fall of 2021.

Eleonor Maciel, is an experimental artist, actress, and director. El Silencio-El Grito Ahogado, liminal spaces, marginalization, gender identity, decolonization of the body and mind are themes of exploration in her work, and she roots her poetics through the lens of visual and performing arts as an independent creator.
