Haunted by his family's history of alcohol abuse, Shane Canning has managed to avoid alcohol consumption for all twenty-six years of his life. But this is no easy task when your best friends are lushes and you are the sole proprietor of the town tavern. One unsuspecting evening, Shane finds himself subject to a prank involving a spiked beverage which will change his life forever. From this experience, Shane may have just made the most important scientific discovery of our time, and he slowly becomes obsessed to prove it to the world. Shane's theory: what if alcohol is nothing more than the greatest placebo of all?
