Matador Records' F@CK#D UP are a bunch of noisy Canadians adept at face-melting during live shows. Like, seriously watch out for your face. Seamlessly plowing through punk's varied past, their songs can invoke the melodic anthems of British Oi, the brawny directness of early 80s American hardcore and the artistic autonomy of a band that doesn't care what its forebears have done before. Fronted by singer Pink Eyes, the band's lyrics cover everything from the perils of fundamentalism to the importance of sustainable agriculture, keeping the punk ethos alive while making you want to smash your head in.
