The Schumann Piano Quintet is a milestone in chamber music literature. Its energy and melodic inventiveness show the composer at his most creative and imaginative.
The Brahms Violin Sonata in G Op. 78 is one of his most private and intimate chamber works. Its nickname "The Rain Sonata" references the last movement's perpetual soft-falling notes.
