Troubadoor Promotions Presents: Tracy Bonham
Local strings impresario and twice Grammy nominated (Best Female Rock Vocal and Best Alternative Album) artist, Tracy Bonham is the next high level musician that Troubadoor Promotions is bringing to town. Her major record label debut, The Burdens of Being Upright (Island), sold over 800,000 copies worldwide and went gold in the US as well as Holland, Australia, and Canada, spawning the hit single "Mother Mother". Tracy also received a an MTV Video Award nomination for "Mother, Mother".
Tracy Bonham's most recent release in 2010, called Masts of Manhatta, has garnered great press from The New York Times, Rollingstone and Billboard. This is a mature album, rich with harmonies and textures has moments of blue-eyed soul, Rhythm and Blues, European Classical music, and Rock n Roll, all rolled up into one beautifully melodic body of work. The record was self produced, mixed by Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Los Lobos, Lisa Germano) and features Brooklyn artist Smokey's Roundup (Tom Waits, Beck, Norah Jones) as her backing band. Tracy has worked with artists such as Aerosmith, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Blue Man Group, Juliana Hatfield, Ron Sexsmith, Wayfaring Strangers, Latin Playboys, NoBlues from the Netherlands, Soulwax from Belgium, and Mark Oliver Everet of The Eels.
The Troubadoor experience will begin at 7:00 with tastings of some local food and drink, an opening act will hit at 8:00, and Tracy will take the stage at 8:30. The beauty of the Troubadoor experience is that you'll be home by 10:30. Tickets will be $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door.
