Celebrate the holiday season in this program of Christmas treasures old and new. Featuring Benjamin Britten's beloved A Ceremony of Carols for chorus and harp (in honor of the composer's 100th-anniversary year), the concert also includes Renaissance masterworks, splendid contemporary pieces by William Hawley (O magnum mysterium), Robert Young (There Is No Rose), and Howard Helvey (See, Amid the Winter's Snow), a luminous new setting by Matthew Nielsen of the familiar It Came Upon a Midnight Clear, and a variety of international carols.
