The novels main character is an African-American labor and delivery nurse named Ruth Jefferson, and the book focuses the issue of race in America as Ruth is called to administer emergency care to the newborn son of a white supremacist couple. The book is being adapted into a film starring Viola Davis and Julia Roberts!
2/17/2021 at 6pm - Christine Filarski will moderate the session for the book Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. Firefly Lane is a story of friendship between two women, the joys and sorrows of their lives, and how friendships have the power to raise us up, or to destroy us.
