Bemidji Symphony Orchestra presents "Homecoming Celebrations!"
The Bemidji Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Beverly Everett, continues its 75th anniversary season with "Homecoming Celebrations" on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 3:00 pm at the Bemidji High School Auditorium. Guest cellist Eric Haugen will be featured on Antonin Dvořák's melodic Concerto in B minor, Op. 104.
Eric Haugen started playing the cello in the Suzuki method when he was just over 3 years old. He studied with Sonja Connell in his hometown of Bemidji, MN from 1996 to 2008 and then studied with Peter Howard in Saint Paul, MN. He is now a cello performance major at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He currently plays in several chamber music ensembles as well as the University Symphony Orchestra at the University of Michigan.
The program opens with a world premier of "Wretched Bloom" by James Young, and concludes with Dvořák's vibrant Symphony No. 8 in G major. Join Dr. Everett and guest artist Eric Haugen immediately after the concert for a post-concert conversation.
