Virtual Manipulatives for Middle and High School
Henri will present up to seven free virtual manipulatives he created on a foundation of Google Drawings, Google Slides, and GeoGebra: 11x11 Geoboard, Algebra Lab Gear, Tiling, Grid Paper, Pentominoes, Tangrams, and Circle Geoboard. For each one, he will share a problem-rich, low-threshold / high-ceiling lesson suitable for middle school or high school. (The topics are appropriate for students in pre-algebra, basic algebra, and basic geometry.)
Bonus: Henri will also share links to additional, more involved lessons using those materials.
Henri Picciotto is a math education consultant, retired from the classroom after 42 years of teaching at every level from counting to calculus. He shares his ideas and much curriculum on his Math Education Page (www.MathEducation.page) and his blog (blog.MathEducation.page).
