This fun and interactive workshop will educate people who work with the public, especially young people, to understand basic terminology, understand WV law and WVDE policy and learn techniques that provide respect to everyone regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.
This workshop is for teachers, school staff and administrators, counselors, nurses, psychologists, law enforcement, child abuse and domestic violence victim advocates, forensic interviewers, social workers, parents, religious leaders, community leaders, business owners, elected officials, etc. Really anyone that has a desire to learn factual information, terminology and strategies for providing a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals will find this workshop helpful.
Three (3) graduate credit hours have been approved through Concord University for those interested in taking this workshop and completing additional assignments. There is an additional $99 fee payable to Concord for graduate credit.
