Over-the-Rhine People's Movement Today
The Over-the-Rhine People's Movement is made up of people, institutions, organizations, and actions - all unified to defend the self-reliance, the self-determination, and the interconnection of the neighborhood, and more broadly, Cincinnati. This event is a supplement to the Over-the-Rhine People's Movement Walking Tour.

On this tour, we visit several sites to learn more about how housing and public space are being transformed, and the impact of local residents. Over-the-Rhine has lost thousands of housing units in just a few short years due to massive changes in investment (public and private) in housing and public space, such as parks. We learn about tenant organizing, the impact of nuisance property and housing codes, how non-profit organizations are changing within this landscape, what public-private partnerships do to the availability of affordable housing, and what development is happening around Findlay Market. We learn about, and see the impact of SIDs, TIFs, Tax Abatement, and other programs.

Please join us to examine the events, barriers, successes, and on-going efforts of the Over-the-Rhine People's Movement. We will cover topics like:

Fighting For Affordable Housing
* The Columbia
* Parkway Towers
* Elm & Liberty

Fighting for Public Space
* Ziegler Park
* Keep Our Courts
* Imagination Alley
* Findlay Playground

Fighting for Services
* Shelterhouse Move
* Showerhouse Move
* Public Restroom Access

Fighting for Quality of Life
* SID Opposition
* Use of TIF Funding
* Liberty Street
* Stadium and Elm and Liberty

This tour will focus mainly on events since 2015. Please join us for this unique experience! Event instructions will be available on the ticket receipt page and through the Brown Paper Tickets' email ticket holder's receive.
