The Santa Monica Independent Film Festival (SaMo Indie) is celebrating it's first year! And we're thrilled to be here. Film lovers will join filmmakers in honoring innovative and inspiring independent film. You'll be treated to a program of live action, animated and documentary short films, an honorable-mention highlight reel and a feature film presentation on each of our three festival nights.
Sip free beer and wine, chat with filmmakers, actors and industry professionals, and settle in for an evening of truly independent film from Santa Monica and the USA to Germany, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada and Brazil.

Like to get the inside scoop? We do too. A brief introduction with filmmakers will follow our shorts program, and at the end of the night we'll hand out our awards. Our panel of judges have chosen our "Best Of's", but it's up to you to choose our "Audience Choice". (Because we know how fun it is to mark that little piece of paper and toss it into a great big hat).
And if you're inspired to take a little bit of us home with you at the end of the night, limited edition t-shirts (screen printed in Downtown LA) will be available for purchase to keep us growing strong for next year's festival. Each ticket purchased also includes a chance to win a nifty prize.
And now a smidge about us: SaMo Indie is one of the most filmmaker friendly independent film festivals in the world. We care about filmmakers first and foremost, and aim to foster a creative and inspiring community event in order to honor them. With a combined 40 years of experience working in the film industry, the founders of SaMo Indie know first hand how difficult it can be to get recognition in such a competitive field. Our goal is to help filmmakers get that recognition and to spring board them to other platforms.
