Using the SFA Archive: An Oral History Workshop
PLEASE NOTE: registration should be accomplished on a desktop, not a phone or tablet, to enable access to the questionnaire.

This workshop will be hosted by Annemarie Anderson, Southern Foodways Alliance oral historian, and Jessica Taylor, assistant professor of History and Director of Public History at Virginia Tech. Anderson and Taylor will introduce SFAs oral history archive to educators and users. They will present regionally specific foodways oral histories that can be used to foster place-based learning. While this workshop is geared towards educators, anyone who wants to use oral history archives to illustrate a thesis is welcome to attend.

In addition to providing ideas and thoughts on how to use SFA archives in the classroom, teaching, and learning, the workshop will also teach others how to use oral histories as primary sources and creative commons licenses to present this work.

The workshop will be conducted on Zoom. Registered participants will receive a Zoom calling code the day before the event.
