Seven Herbs for Anxiety (virtual class on zoom)
Herbs can be very useful tools for anxiety in several ways. There are sedative herbs that calm your system, herbs that regulate extreme responses to stimuli, and herbs that can gently ground your energy.

In this class we'll cover my seven favorite herbal allies for anxiety and nervous tension. We'll discuss the uses, cautions, dosages, preparations and potential formulas for each herb. We'll look at each herb from a western herbal perspective, a Chinese medicine perspective, and in some cases a little about the research that's been done on it.

Here are the herbs we will be learning about:
- lemon balm
- ashwagandha
- bleeding heart
- passionflower
- albizia
- Tulsi
- skullcap

Knowing myself, we'll mention several others throughout the class as well.

Please bring a notebook and pen, and feel free to take pictures of samples as well for your reference.

WHEN: Friday, May 8th, 2020, 7-9pm

ZOOM CLASSES

Due to COVID-19, I am currently offering live virtual classes. We can interact just as in a real classroom (with audio and video), but without the danger of spreading COVID. So far, people are loving the new possibility of tuning in from home.

How to join the zoom call:

I will send you a link to the scheduled conference call to the email you provide at registration. When its time for class, you will follow that link (having already created your zoom account) and join the call. You may join with just audio, or just video. The call will start 10 minutes prior to the start of class so we can get settled in and technical difficulties worked out. I recommend using something with audio and video capabilities (phones or laptop computers work well).

ABOUT THE TEACHER:

Natalie runs the Adiantum School of Plant Medicine, a local herb school in Seattle, where she teaches classes on plant ID, medicine making, and holistic herbalism. She has spent several years acquiring and synthesizing knowledge about Western Herbalism, PNW Materia Medica, nutrition, and Chinese Medicine. She is particularly passionate about traditional assessment techniques, the effects of emotions on the physical body, and holistic models of understanding imbalance. She also loves to forage and grow medicinal plants of all kinds, because cultivating a direct relationship with the living plant is not only educational but very healing. All in all, she is an empiricist at heart who loves experimentation and exploration into the possibilities of nourishing and strengthening our bodies and souls. As a teacher, Natalie is flexible, engaging and multi-sensory. She has extensive teaching experience, and is always looking for ways to keep things fresh and exciting.
