Langtoun Jazz Festival 2020 Concert 7 Mike Rogers Quartet New Jazz Standards Songbook
Mike Rogers and his all star trio take well known songs, not usually associated with jazz treatments and give them their own interpretation.
Expect to hear something by The Beatles, Sting, Tom Waits, Willie Nelson, Chris Christopherson and many more.
Clever arrangements have been done by David Patrick, who also plays piano in the trio.
The other members of the trio are Andy Sharkey on bass and Tom Gordon on drums
Mike was for many years a stalwart of the jazz scene in Edinburgh, hosting singers nights and helping to run Lockerbie Jazz Festival.
He has now relocated to Southport and picking up a few gigs in the area but is looking forward to returning to Scotland for this gig
