Ben Cassara: Heres To Life - A Birthday Celebration
Jazzer Ben Cassara returns to Pangea to celebrate his birthday with his hip pals, Josh Richman, Matthew Parrish and Adam Hutchenson.
Born and raised in NYC, Ben Cassara has been singing since he was in grammar school.
He appeared in musical productions both in high school and college and after school started singing and playing piano in piano bars both in NYC and in New Jersey.
After awhile, Ben decided he wanted to be a front man and starting working with different Jazz musicians in the city.
After making his debut CD, Sister Moon, a few years back, he has since performed at many venues in the trip-state area including Kitano Jazz, The Metropolitan Room, Bar 55, Midday Jazz at St. Peters Church, The Jazz Brunch at North Square, Something Jazz, Joes Pub, Trumpets, and Shanghai Jazz.
"One of the most engaging vocalists aroundalways in evidence a strong jazz influence in his vocalizing and choice of material." Joe Lang, Jersey Jazz
"I heartily recommend that admirers of vocal jazz who havent yet heard Ben Cassara seek him out." Mark Dundas Wood, Bistro Awards.com
"...has a real feel for both jazz and for singing lyrics fairly straight when they deserve it." Scott Yanow, Inside Jazz Magazine
