ArcoPDX presents Große Fugea late Beethoven tribute
We're celebrating Beethoven's 250th birth-year with monthly late-Beethoven chamber music performances throughout the year and throughout the city. The centerpiece of our program is the formidable Große Fuge ("an absolutely contemporary piece of music that will be contemporary forever"Stravinksy), which we will flank with movements from his late string quartets and piano sonatas, along with works by other composers that capture the raw and spiritual essence of Beethoven's later works.
