The Celtic Sojourns of Haydn & Beethoven
The Berry Collective presents its first concert series of the new decade, taking a musical journey through Scotland, Ireland, and Wales.
Sylvia Berry, founder of The Berry Collective, is joined by a stellar group of Boston's most beloved singers in a magical evening of Celtic folksongs as seen through the eyes of Haydn and Beethoven. These tunes from Scotland, Ireland, and Wales captivated English audiences in the early 19th century, leading Haydn and Beethoven to make these gorgeous arrangements that continue to entrance us today.
Teresa Wakim, soprano Jason McStoots, tenor Sumner Thompson, baritone Sylvia Berry, Broadwood & Son grand (1806) Julia McKenzie, violin Rebecca Shaw, cello
