Fates of Flesh and Stone: Recent songs by Jake Heggie
A gala evening of recent songs, duets and ensembles by San Francisco composer Jake Heggie (Dead Man Walking) with a special appearance by the radiant Frederica von Stade. A spectacular group of singers is joined by beloved members of the San Francisco Symphony and the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. Set to texts by Terrence McNally, Armistead Maupin, Eugenia Zukerman, Gene Scheer, Raymond Carver and others, Heggie's songs explore a range of human drama with lyricism, theatricality and humor.
