Cancelled: Polarized Guru in Concert to Benefit First Parish in Needham
Local Jazz/Fusion group Polarized Guru is performing on Saturday, March 14, 7 - 9 pm, at First Parish in Needham at 23 Dedham Avenue to benefit the church.
Local Needham piano teacher and retired Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble Director at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School Bob Ponte is one of five musicians in the group, playing keyboards. Other players include Paul Rodriguez, guitar; Todd Rhodes, drums; Michael Merrill, bass; and John MacNeill, saxes and Aerophone. All are local musicians from Sudbury, Hudson and Acton.
Polarized Guru presents a dynamic show with a mix of jazz, funk, latin, and other styles. Inspired by artists like Chick Corea, Spyro Gyra, The Yellow Jackets, and Steps Ahead, Polarized Guru plays covers and originals. Recommended donation is $15 online at BrownPaperTickets.com or $18 at the door.
