Women Ballet Choreographers And Composers Residency

Where are all the women choreographers? says Dance Magazine, Rambert Dance Company, N.Y.U, and numerous publications such as the New York Times, and Londons Observer and Guardian newspapers.

On June 14th, Kathryn Roszak's Danse Lumiere presents the 5th Annual Women Ballet Choreographers and Composers Residency at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program. This years event honors the 10th Anniversary of the Equal Rights Amendment. At the event, women choreographers and composers will screen or perform their works in an open rehearsal space. Some of the invited participants include Julia Feldman (Sacramento Ballet), Tristan Ching Hartmann (formerly of Robert Moses' Kin Dance Company), Nicole Haskins (formerly of Smuin Ballet), Lauren Jonas (Artistic Director of Diablo Ballet), Cristina Johnson (formerly of Dance Theatre of Harlem), Victoria Morgan (Artistic Director of Cincinnati Ballet), Lissa Resnick (Artistic Director of No Strings Attached Dance Company), and Kathryn Roszak (Artistic Director of Danse Lumiere).The event also includes a gourmet lunch, sculpture walk, and an inter-disciplinary panel moderated by Danse Lumiere Artistic Director Kathryn Roszak. Roszak says, This residency program highlights choreographic and musical works by women. We plan to help women artists further develop their work while giving them greater opportunity and visibility.
