Live at Studio5: LISA LAUREN
Lisa Lauren, vocal/piano Neal Alger, guitar Larry Kohut, bass Jim Gailloreto, saxophone Larry Beers, drums Jean Leroy, percussion Steve Rashid, harmonica
Lisa Lauren has a delightful voice, and she is just as delightful a person. Béa and I have been friends with Lisa and her husband, Bill, for decades, and we are so excited to welcome Lisa to the Studio5 stage. She is a talented arranger and pianist, and has released four internationally acclaimed CDs. Her songs have had airplay on hundreds of contemporary jazz and pop stations across the U.S., Europe and Australia, and they have been featured on compilations in Germany, Japan, Singapore and the Philippines. Lisa has an admitted soft spot for the music of the Beatles (who doesn't?) and her ultra-cool arrangements of Fab Four tunes will certainly be a feature of her Studio5 show (in fact, for you Evanston Dance Ensemble fans, you might recall that Lisa's Beatles covers have been featured in several EDE shows). She has assembled a fabulous ensemble for this evening, and I will be delighted to jump into the fray for a few tunes, myself. This is going to be such fun! Yay Lisa!
We'll be recording this performance for Chicago Jazz Live on WDCB, so you'll be part of the studio audience! See you there. -SR
