The Black Irish Band in Concert
Hailing from historic Gold Rush Country, the Black Irish Band has a storied history of more than 30 years of progressive folk music, over 700 musical performances, and the release of 27 recorded albums. In May of last year, the band headlined as the official band of the 150th Anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad -- linking the United States from coast to coast -- at Promontory Summit, Utah. This concert includes songs from their latest CD release, Promontory Summit, recorded in celebration of that Anniversary. An evening with the Black Irish Band features a mix of Celtic, Spanish, and Americana music, creating an original sound like no other, capturing the spirit of the immigrants of America -- the men and women who tamed the Wild West.
The Black Irish Band are: PATRICK MICHAEL KARNAHAN: banjo, melodeon, octave mandolin, trumpet, guitar, concertina, vocals STEVE MCARTHUR: accordion, guitar, piano, vocals JAMES DEAN NELSON: banjo, guitar, vocals STAN EMMONS: bass, vocals
