Come to the Cinema and see forbidden and once-shunned movie clips from classic Hollywood "Pre-Code" films that made audiences and censors scream! Before The Motion Picture Production Code's strict censorship rules were fully enforced in 1934, many Hollywood Pre-Code movies were peppered with scenes of sexual innuendo, profanity, illegal drug use, prostitution, promiscuity, violence, near-nudity and homosexuality. Film-maker and film history writer Glenn Andreiev is presenting a fun, informative, jaw-dropping evening exploring that untamed Pre-Code era. Many film clips that will be shown here were removed by nervous, scissor-happy censors when these films were re-released to theatres after the "Code" went into effect. See such Hollywood legends as Jean Harlow, Charles Laughton, Edward G. Robinson, Joan Blondell, James Cagney and more star in wild scenes that made church and civic groups finally clamp down on a Hollywood that was going curiously berserk!
