To make our rollicking performances more accessible to the broader community, we are offering a sliding scale for tickets!

TWO SHOWS ON NOVEMBER 2, 2013
AFTERNOON MATINEE 3:00PM & EVENING SHOW 7:00PM

Spend a couple of hours laughing and singing along as we raise the roof of the historic Murphey School auditorium, a 1936 WPA project that has been lovingly restored by the Shared Visions Foundation as a nonprofit retreat and community center.  

The show will feature a remarkable lineup:

Phillip Shabazz - Poet, author and teaching artist
Mary Johnson Rockers and the Spark - original, eclectic music

Our host for the evening is literary adventurer Georgann Eubanks. The program is produced by Donna Campbell of Minnow Media.

All ticket proceeds go to our nonprofit beneficiaries: Hidden Voices (www.hiddenvoices.org) and Partners for Youth( www.partnersforyouth.org.)

Since 2003 Hidden Voices based in Orange County, has collaborated with underrepresented communities to create award-winning works that combine narrative, mapping, performance, music, digital media, animation, and interactive exhibits to engage audiences and participants in explorations of difficult issues. Hidden Voices believes that our stories make change possible, open minds, inspire action and create pathways for increased communication, cooperation, and respect.

Partners for Youth is a year-round mentoring and summer job program for middle and high school students (ages 14- 19 years) based in Southwest Central Durham. Partners for Youth is a uniquely comprehensive model that invests in the success of Durham teens by matching each participant with four mentors. The program is committed to working with the students to overcome challenges in their lives, surrounding them with intensive 360 degree mentoring and the resources they need to become leaders in their schools, workplaces and community.  

The Murphey School Radio Show is a program of the Shared Visions Foundation, a 501(c)(3)charitable organization (#56-2254231); produced by Minnow Media, LLC, and hosted by the Shared Visions Retreat Center at the Historic Murphey School.
