David Gray in Concert
David Gray, young Scottish piano and organ prodigy, will concertize at Portland's Cleveland high school Friday September 20th. David is a new concert artist - one with talent, technique and a quiet unassuming personality that will win many supporters David was a featured organist at the Theatre Organ Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, in July this year. Quoting organist Walt Strony, "As I write this, David Gray just finished playing an amazing piano solo. In an organ world filled with mediocrity and, in my opinion, too many "formula" players that are not at all original it's such a joy and privilege to know that the future of the art form is secure. In fact, witnessing this event has brought tears to my eyes." David graduated with honors in June 2013 with a Bachelor of Music (Performance) degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London and will finish a 2013 Australian/New Zealand/US concert tour with performances in Seattle and Portland during his mid-year academic break. In 2005 he won the international "American Theatre Organ Society Young Theatre Organist of the Year" competition in Los Angeles. He has since played concerts throughout the UK, Australia, New Zealand, USA and Switzerland.
