Author Workshop: Identifying Your Target Reader
Who is your target market? (Hint - it's not all Amazon readers, nor is it defined by genre). Once you know who they are, how do you find them?

When you find your future readers, how do you interact with them to promote your book without spamming?

Bring paper and pen -- this is an interactive workshop. You'll go home with new insights about your writing.

Wine & Cheese, Coffee & Tea provided.

Free Parking is Included in your Ticket!

About Katherine
Katherine co-founded Booktrope -- a revolutionary book-publishing "co-op" model where writer, editor, artist and marketer contribute their work for a percentage of sales instead of the author paying all the up-front fees. A Q&A will follow her workshop.

Katherine's life-long love of books, and her background in marketing and technology, led her to join forces with other bookish folks to create Booktrope. She co-authored How to Market a Book and served on the University of Washington's Digital Publishing Certificate Program advisory board.

Katherine has presented at the Pacific Northwest Writers Association conference and Northwest BookFest. She has also worked as an actress and corporate trainer. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from USC. Katherine lives in Fall City, WA, with her canine and human family members.

This event is hosted by the Seattle Free Lances organization.

Originally founded as a society of professional writers, in recent years Seattle Free Lances membership has grown to include publishing industry professionals and writers actively working toward publication. It is our goal to support the continued success of our published members while also encouraging the aspirations of those writers whose ultimate aim is to become published.

We continue to meet once each month, on the first Tuesday evening, to share our stories, seek encouragement and enjoy the fellowship of our peers.
